Week 4

Lately in class we have been trying to find different textures of objects or things. Whether making them up, copying, or rubbing them onto a piece of sketchbook paper. The different textures of things create movement for your eyes and make them follow the image more closely. It makes your want to concentrate harder on the image to see what really is going on. I decided to find an image that stood out to me and created movement by the texture.

This image shows many different layers of lines woven throughout the picture. There are some clumps throughout which lead your eyes to go around the texture and observe all of it. It is black and white so color is not chosen to accentuate the texture. Through the lines your eyes get caught and stay. I this that this texture is likely a close up shot of a blanket or some type of woven fabric, maybe a type of material for clothing.

I like textures because they make the item so much more interesting to the person viewing them. I really like how you want to look at the image more carefully once your see the type of texture it has.
