Week 6

My absolute favorite flower is the sunflower. Since it is winter and about time to turn to spring I am getting tired of this long cold windy town. I decided to do this week’s art blog on a painting of sunflowers.

Sunflowers are so warm and inviting. This painting is by Lynn Jaye, called “Sunflower Lane.” This painting creates a winding road with beautiful sights on either side of it. I would really enjoy walking down the path and looking at all the wonderful flowers.

It has a sense of balance because the flowers are on either side of the path. It also has a foreground, which are the flowers. The middle ground of the painting which has the Italian looking villa. Then it also has a background, which consists of the winding hills and far side villa. The color scheme is of yellows, browns, greens, and some blues. It is not very elaborate with color but it is very beautiful to look at.

This is a good painting that illustrates the foreground, middle ground, and background rule. Looking at this painting by Lynn Jaye helps me better understand what I should do for my next project and how to utilize the different grounds. Hopefully I will have a strong sense of grounds as this painting has.
